Dave Mason :

"Tony Steidler-Dennison is someone I met while working on the
Clark Presidential campaign – he’s a good man with a passion for Linux
and a bigger passion for music. His podcast is called The Roadhouse and
is a good weekly look at Blues artists you probably haven’t heard. I am
not a particularly large blues fan though I certainly appreciate the
role it has played in rock and roll (Hooker and Heat is probably my
favorite in-your-face example of that influence). Still, my personal
tastes notwithstanding, Tony runs a really tight show! He has a great
voice for radio and an obvious love for doing it.

So, good on you Tony – I’m listening."

John:

"Excellent job on the Roadhouse Blues show.  Been a huge fan of the blues and
for so long only public radio kept the music alive.  Props to you and Dave
Raven among others for getting this music out there!"

David:

"So tonight listening to your Episode 6 – one of your best – and
I hear you mention you are podcasting from Iowa City? Oh my God – I
went to college there (ahem) 30 something years ago and loved it. Who
wouldn’t during the four years after Woodstock?? I lived in a house up
on Washington Street with a dozen other hippies – in the days when
Janis and Big Brother would do free concerts on the streets by the
campus. And I too had my brains scrambled by the Motor City Madman,
believe it or not in a venue as small as the Student Union. My ears
buzzed well past graduation."

CNN - Tuning in to a new radio trend

Pretty lightweight piece:

  • "MP3 players do not have aerials, which means information cannot be broadcast via waves."
  • Quoted Adam Curry: He said Podcasting was a hobby for some
people, just like Web logging or "blogging" is. "I think a lot of
people doing these things—just like with web logs—are not in it
for the money. They are expressing an opinion," he said.

CNN Money – Clear Channel boosts Net strategy

  • Clear Channel plans to make some of its morning programming available as podcasts
  • Evan Harrison, executive vice president of Clear Channel
Radio’s new online music and radio division, quoted as saying, "Radio
online seemed clunky. It seemed as if they had their heads buried in
the sand. But, online is radio’s for the taking."

    Loved show 7!!
I got to stop listening on my way to work or next time I just might not make it. I was shifting and jiving through the door at the hospital where I work. Weird feeling walking through the quite halls listing to the blues at 95% volume. No one saw me so I’m save for another week.

ps. I notice you don’t have the “linux link tech show” or the “lugradio” podcasts in your list of podcasts on your blog. Both these offer great stuff if you are a linux geek.
