My second question is about Garageband, which I understand is the source
of the music for the Roadhouse. I’m wondering if all the music on
Garageband is podsafe? I don’t seem to see a usage policy anywhere on
the site. Maybe I’m just overlooking it, but I would have expected a big
fat notice that tells exactly how the music can be used and rebroadcast.
Can I just download music from Garageband and use it for my podcast?

Wayne:

In the summer of 1956 a neighborhood grocer gave me a job
helping out. The first thing I bought with money I earned was a radio!
Well it wasn’t long before I discovered WLAC in Nashville with DJ’s
John R and Hoss Allen, with music by Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Howlin
Wolf and so on. The musical orientation for
my life was established! I have talked to a lot of people who also
admit that this radio station was the one that turned them on to the
blues back in the 50’s.

What came out of that session, after numerous takes, was Ida Red√ǨѢs new
name and Chuck Berry√ǨѢs first hit, "Maybellene". Maybellene topped the R
& B charts at #1, and the pop charts at #5.

May 24 – On this day in 1955, Muddy Waters recorded
"Mannish Boy" for Chess, as a sort of answer song to Bo Diddley’s "I’m
A Man" recorded two months earlier.

May 27 – On this day in 1951, a young B.B. King entered
the Memphis Recording Service along with Phineas and Calvin Newborn.
Supervised by Sam Phillips and Jules Bihari, he recorded "She’s

Another great show, Tony! I’m trying to introduce my friends to podcasting, and I chose your show for my Wednesday Podcast Talk on my blog. The music you choose helps me get through my workday more quickly. Keep up the good work!

My pleasure, Beau. I also used it in the IndieFeed Blues podcast last week.
