Just finished listening to my first roadhouse blues podcast.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and have subscribed…(think I heard about you
through the RocknRoll Geek Show)
I used to hit garageband fairly regularly but haven’t in a long time…might have to start going back

I grew up in the 70’s in a small town in Eastern Canada (Corner Brook
Newfoundland) with absolutely no FM radio stations. My cousin travelled
alot and would bring back tapes of some wonderful FM radio stations out
of the USA. I developed a love of informative, captivating FM radio.
Thankfully his "brainwashing" included a hefty dose of the blues!
But that was the 70’s and those wonderful FM stations with DJ’s you
actually enjoyed listening to are long gone. Or so I thought! I
discovered the Roadhouse Blues PodCast about a month ago and let me tell
you, it takes me back 30 years. I look forward to the podcast as much as
I did the tapes from my cousin. Best of all, I have been able to return
the favour to my cousin, and give him copies of your shows.
Anyway, I can’t say thanks enough for your podcast. Thanks to the
RoadHouse Blues PodCast, and the podcasting phenomenon, I am excited
about "broadcasting" again!

With respect to your bit about Forbes, it’s not actually that surprising given that they’ve got Sam Whitmore on board, who does his monthly column for them. To that you add that Sam also does the Closet Deadhead show, and it all makes sense.
PS. Great show as always – just realised that you’re coming from ‘near’ (well from viewed across the puddle), my old stomping ground of the Midwest, as I grew up near Minneapolis.
wow, i’ve been digging The Roadhouse for a couple of months and the show just seems to get better and better with each edition. today’s episode must be my fav so far…. such good music and a nice mix of info presented.
and, they play some great live kinda-hard-to-find music, too.
i agree with the listener letter… The Roadhouse is in the same spirit and has the same overall vibe of early ‘70’s FM radio. it’s so refreshing to hear great new songs and artists breaking over the airwaves/e-waves and to again feel part of a community that is coming together simply out of the sheer joy of sharing musical experiences. music is has some mystical timeless quality and has no boundaries when it comes to bringing people from all walks of life together.
btw, it’s totally cool to see that folks like the Closet Deadhead and other semi-corporate Guys are no longer keeping their tie-dyed teeshirts, lovebeads and suede DavidCrosbyFringed jackets hidden away…. those ‘old guys’ sure have some great stories and insights to share
