Feedback On The Torrent

20 June 2005 3 Comments

As you can see, I’ve added Bit Torrent links to the podcasts remaining on the front page. If you’re used to downloading the shows directly and have BT installed, using the BT links would be greatly appreciated.

If you’ve used the BT download links, I’d also really appreciate your feedback on the experience. Send me email with your comments, or leave comments on any of the show entries here.

    Hi Tony

The roadhouse is my favourite music podcast – I cant wait to get the latest downloaded and crank up the ipod or hook it into my wave radio so i can let the family enjoy it too :)

I do have a question on the Torrent downloads. Last night the download went flawlessly but unless i am missing something fundamental, this is just adding another step for me. Currnently i use IPodder and it pulls down the show and loads it into iTunes. If i use BT, i need to manually go to your site get the feed and then load it into itTunes. Is there a plan to integrate a client (IPodder?) with BT?

    Thanks for the great music!

    Chris

You commented just in time, Chris. There’s now a bt-enabled feed link in the right sidebar. If you adjust your subscription in iPodder to the new BT feed, it should word as flawlessly as the .mp3 feed.

Yes, it seems to be working just fine on my windows work machine. Its slower than the usual “direct” connection – currently I am getting about 13kB/sec. I am sure that will immprove as more people use the torrent. I will try it later this evening on my home Mac.

What a great idea to blend podcasts and BT. Blues at the bleeding edge of technology ;-) Very cool.

    Thanks again.
