Butler And Page On KYOU

23 June 2005 No Comment

Michael Butler has a fantastic interview with Stephen Page of KYOURadio on his latest Rock ‘n’ Roll Geek Show. He draws some great comparisons between the failures of the current radio industry and the current music industry. This is an interview you shouldn’t miss.

I’ve been talking with Stephen for the past month or so on a regular basis, both by email and by phone. I was convinced almost immediately that he’s serious about making the KYOURadio format work for both radio and podcasters. What I’d missed in those conversations was Stephen’s background – a great mix of radio and technology. Short of that, Michael’s interview really highlights what I’ve felt all along in talking with Stephen – that he’s a maverick who’s not afraid to take on the current corporate radio mindset. He is, quite simply, the right guy to take on this “experiment” for Infinity. I walked away from the interview more convinced than ever that Stephen Page is the right guy in the right place for both radio and podcasting.

Here’s a heads-up, as well. Though the discussion with KYOU that started here publicly has been pretty quiet, it has been ongoing. I’ll have a couple of interesting announcements here within the next week or so.
