June 27 – On this day in 1968, Albert King recorded the classic “Blues Power” live at the Fillmore in San Francisco.
June 27 – On this day in 1971, Albert King again sang “Blues Power” but this time it was for the last show to ever take place in Bill Graham’s “Fillmore East” in New York City.
June 30 – On this day in 1958, “Willie And The Hand Jive” by Johnny Otis entered the Top 40 chart. One of the better known recordings of this song was by Eric Clapton on his album 461 Ocean Boulevard.
