Format Change

If you’ve already listened to Show 020, you’ve probably noticied a change to the format. I hadn’t tinkered with it for awhile, but this change really seemed to make sense.

Unlike previous shows, with 2 musical cuts, a break, 2 more musical cuts, another break, etc., The Roadhouse 020 is 3-2-3-2: 3 cuts, a break, 2 cuts, a break, etc. I made the change because I wanted to get a little bit more out of the way of the music. Also, a full talking segment for contact information seemed a little silly. So, I was able to cut the number of talking segments down to 3 and keep the 10-song format with a bit of symmetry.

Like it? Hate it? Didn’t even notice? Let me know what you think in the comments.

I like the new “3-2-3-2 format” , the program got a better flow with this new format!

Keep up the good work Tony!

Regards from a happy roadhouse-listener from Sweden! :-)

Thanks, Peter. I had the same feeling when I listened back to the show. The flow seemed much less choppy. Breaking to talk 4 times during the show in the old format was just too much. This format seemed like more music, even though it was really just less talk.

    THANKS!

I like the new format, and love the podcast. As has already been mentioned, it seems to flow better this way. I’ve been listening to The Roadhouse since near the beginning (and have gone back and picked up the back-issues)—you’re a real inspiration for the podcast I work on, Radio DTB (http://radiodtb.com/). I’ll listen to your shows, trying to pick up presentation techniques that will help the production value of my own.

    Keep up the good work!
