New Look

2 October 2005 6 Comments

In the spirit of “simpler is [usually] better,” The Roadhouse has taken on a new look. In the past few weeks, I realized how cluttered the old design had begun to look. I found the great Conestoga Street WordPress theme by Theron Parlin this morning, and knew it was exactly the look I wanted. Add to that the new logo from contest winner Dennis Rancourt, and I think I’ve hit upon a winning combination. Let me know what you think in the comments, bearing in mind that a few tweaks are still in the works.

nice look for your website, but i kinda miss the larger, un-blurred pic of Mr. Tony Steidler-Dennison behind the mic :)
btw, just curious if you’re familiar with Bing Futch’s All Florida Indies” podcast…. great music of all genres by Indie Florida bands. he’s also a member of the Association of Music Podcasting.

Thanks Donna. I am familiar with “All Florida Indies.” Bing does a great job with the show and I’ve played his promo at least once in The Roadhouse. We’re a fairly tight bunch at AMP. He’s also one of the biggest participants in the forums. So, I’ve been aware of the show for quite awhile.

I love the new look of the website, and the logo is so cool!

Keep up the good work Tony!

I was tempted to enter the logo contest, but my expertise is in marketing not design. I like the winner.

Marketing advise: you need to get some text below the logo to confirm what the Roadhouse is. This is both for the search engines and new visitors. I’d brag about the number of shows, done, too, since most podcast consumers want to know if they will get consistant content.

“Weekly blues podcast since 2004 featuring The finest blues you’ve never heard” or something like that.
