I opened my mailbox this afternoon to find a shiny new CD. Sometimes, that’s about the best you can expect from the mailbox. In this case, it was the latest Rita Chiarelli CD. After a few listens, I’ve decided that this is one of the best CDs I’ve received directly from an artist since the inception of The Roadhouse. Rita was one of the artists in Roadhouse 035, but, somehow, that cut didn’t fully communicate the soul and emotion in her voice. This is, really, quite a CD - covering a variety of standards from Doc Pomus, Roosevelt Sykes, Hank Williams, and others. “No-One To Blame” is the CD. Get it here.
