The Roadhouse 041
A virtual cornucopia of blues awaits you in this week’s Roadhouse – a full range of styles from hard-edged to sweet acoustic, and every note the blues. Front and center: Bernard Allison, Jimmie Bratcher, The John Baldwin Group, Toni Lynn Washington, and P. W. Fenton and The Second Ward. Six other cuts, listener comments and a look back at some great music from previous shows fill out that horn-shaped basket of plenty on this long weekend. The waitresses are clearing the tables, the bartender is washing the beer mugs and the acts are pacing backstage, waiting to take the bandstand. It’s the 41st edition of The Roadhouse Podcast – the finest blues you’ve never heard.

I discovered your show from a mention on TWiT. What a happy day that was.
You fill such a niche, and do it so well. Your voice is terrific (you sound just like my brother-in-law from Iowa), you have a great flow to your music, and I keep your shows and listen to them over and over. You are well-informed, and I learn a lot about the music.
I don’t know how I happened to fall in love with the blues here in Maine maybe 25 years ago. It’s been an effort over the years to find music. You’ve changed that for me.
Thanks so much.
This is a great show. It’s hard to find really good blues shows on the ‘net (impossible on commercial radio!). I am adding a list of podcasts to my web site (www.CanberraRootsMusic.com) and will be including this show. You may want to check out one of our local artists, Ernie Van Veen, who has some songs on the podsafe network (http://music.podshow.com/music/listeners/artistdetails.php?BandHash=f9b889f7de5ba042bbe50f7641ae26f6). His song, Think Of You, may well suit your programming. Cheers… Zak D
