The blues is in the house and that house is the point of departure for the 50th Roadhouse Podcast. Slide behind the wheel, point the grill to the south and let the tail-fins leave the turbulence behind. We’re rolling down Highway 61 with the top down and the music cranked. With more to cover than an hour will allow, we roll out with Ian Siegal, Byther Smith, Sean Costello, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Matt Schofield, and seven other great artists. And, the Podshow deal comes up so you’ll know just where The Roadhouse stands. It’s another week, delivering the finest blues you’ve never heard – The Roadhouse Podcast.

Hello, I love your taste my music and I am definitely a subscriber (through the iTMS.)

I’m new to Garage band. (Actually I’m new to podcasting.) I’ve figured out a lot of stuff and I’ve had some measure of success putting a test podcast together and even got it out to the iTMS.

But I’m not able to find much information on how you actually put a podcast together using the music I can find on garageband.com.

Am I supposed to host my shpeil in an MP3 and keep the tunes on garage band and put the playlist there?

That doesn’t seem to be the way you or Johnny Velcro (who’s hosted on libsyn.com, same as me) seem to be doing it…

I have a couple of blogs, a couple of libsyn hosted podcasts (at

I’m trying to grok the actual workflow for integrating songs into my podcasts.

I suppose I could always buy the tunes and work with them on my machines, otherwise it must make a mess of the editing process.

Not to mention, how would the tracking work?

I’m trying to integrate songs from garageband and the podcast music network because some songs from each are appropriate to my particular podcasts.

I’d suggest contacting Garrett Mason for permission to his last disc. Garrett, son of Dutch Mason (whom BB King nicknamed the Prime Minister of the Blues), won the 2005 Juno Award as best Canadian blues album.

Was just tipped off to your podcast by a friend, and after listening to the first five minutes of episode #50, I subscribed via iTunes. You’ve got another dedicated fan now! Congratulations on 50 episodes, and here’s hoping for at least 50 more—great stuff!
