On The Horizon

I dropped a lot of hints about upcoming additions in this week’s show. Let me give you some of the details.

On Wednesday, March 22, I’m launching another blues-related podcast. In fact, you can think of it as a supplement to The Roadhouse. “Conversations in The Roadhouse” will be a twice-monthly podcast featuring interviews and musical clips with prominent blues musicians. Clocking in at 20-25 minutes each, Conversations should provide you with further insight into the musicans and the music played in The Roadhouse. I’ll be conducting the first six interviews for the show over the next three weeks.

This podcast will truly be a supplement to The Roadhouse, showing up in the current Roadhouse feed – you won’t have to take any additional steps to get the new podcast, just stay subscribed to the current feed. If, at some point, it becomes apparent that I need to split that feed out, I’ll do it. Until then, I hope you’ll listen, comment, spread the word, and enjoy the words and music of some of the great blues artists of our time.

    That sounds like a great addition to the current podcast. I look forward to them coming down. Currently I am using a beta version of Doppler and it is very picky about the XML being valid in feeds (I contacted Erwin and he has changed Doppler for the next beta release to be more forgiving) and the past few weeks of Roadhouse shows I had to download manually due to this.

    of course since you use feedburner you make have to rattle thier cage depending on how you have Feedburner setup for your feed.

    I think another listener, Stu, cleared up this issue. It started when I turned on download tracking with Feedburner. I don’t really need those stats, as the stats at Libsyn are good and Podtrac is counting the downloads, also. I’ve turned that feature off at Feedburner and you shouldn’t have any further problems.
