A Short Delay

24 March 2006 6 Comments

So, the plan was to release the first “Conversations in The Roadhouse” this week. It hasn’t happened, yet. I expect that I’ll release the first one next Wednesday.

Actually, I’m having a good problem with the show. I’ve got a bit over 3 hours of interviews right now to work my way through – most of which is pretty interesting stuff. I’ve been fortunate, already, to interview some artists who are pretty happy to be getting the attention and very willing to talk in detail about their music and other things. Just whittling these interviews down to 15-20 minutes has proven more of a challenge than I thought. Like The Roadhouse, I’ll get a process down, and should be able to deliver these regularly, every two weeks. For now, I’m a bit overwhelmed by the editing task.

Also, I didn’t really want to butt this right up against a new edition of The Roadhouse. In other words, once I got to Thursday, it was just too close to a regular Roadhouse release. Wednesdays are perfect. So, look for the first Conversations on Wednesday, March 29.

Thanks for your patience.

No need for excuses, Tony. I’m sure you’ll do the same great job on the interviews as do with The Roadhouse. ;-)

Along with everyone else, I’m eagerly awaiting your new baby, whenever it arrives. Have you considered releasing two versions, the 15 minutes “highlights” version that you’re presumably already working on, and a full unedited version archived somewhere for the hard core?

My wife takes you with her to her chemo sessions. Your show is making a differance in more ways than you can imagine.
We can’t wait for the interviews but don’t give yourself the blues rushing it.
    Enjoy and thanks.

    Hi Tony –
I’ve been enjoying your show for about a year and have been working my way chronologically starting with show 25. I did cheat and listen to the 100th show just to see what it was like.

I’m just finishing listening to episode 61 and was interested in subscribing to the “conversations in the roadhouse” but I can’t seem to find it. The whole concept is great and I think you’d do a terrific job. What happened to it?

BTW, if you ever get a chance to hear Albert Cummings live, he puts on an astonishing show leaving the audience wild and wanting more. I heard him first when he was still building houses and working clubs at night. The only person I ever heard play a guitar like him is Buddy Guy – pretty good company!

Keep up the good work. You make my week go by faster.
