The Roadhouse 074

15 July 2006 4 Comments

SameDayMusic.comAfter a 60-hour work week, it’s great to be back in The Roadhouse Studios. Though life can be a tough road, The Roadhouse offers a bit of shelter from the world and a way to relax after your own trying week. I did manage to bring a bit of that tough edge into the show, though. Hard urban blues by folks like Pete Cornelius, Roy Buchanan and Walter Trout are counterbalanced by Watermelon Slim and Archie Edwards. A listener comment, another Roadhouse Rewound and a little useful information round out the 74th Roadhouse Podcast – another hour of the finest blues you’ve never heard.

Tony – Great opening track! It’s a swinger!

I was completely unaware of Holland K. Smith until Top Cat sent me a second batch of CDs. I’d say I’ve become a fan since then. Both his CDs have that swing.

Great show! I love the crunchy guitars and happy beats. The music is HOT and fits right in with the 100F+ weather we’ve had this week.

Tony – It’s Phil from work. I’m in Melbourne FL for a couple weeks, and found a wonderful bar next to my hotel on the beach of the Atlantic. It’s called Lou’s Blues, and it’s just chock full of great live roadhouse blues every night. It’s getting so I’m eating all my dinners there…
Anyway, wish you were here so I could buy you a couple brewskis & let you have a listen.
    Take care!
