Thanks again Tony! I will be subscribing to the premium Roadhouse very soon!
Perfect timing! “Smokin’” Joe and Bnois (he actually pronounced it “Be-noise”) where in San Jose Friday night… and a finer Friday night you could never ask for. The show, at the Bay Area’s legendary JJ’s Blues (all blues, all the time) was awesome, and listening to the podcast Sunday morning brought it all back – bang on!
Request Time: Well, with Texas blues ringing in my ears, how about something from Lonnie Mack’s, SRV produced, Strike Like Lightning on Aligator Records (Double Whammny?)? If you can…
Another fine show Tony, thanks again!

John:
I’ve been a Joe Kubek fan for some time. He was one of the reasons I secured permissions from Blind Pig – although they have a large and very interesting catalog aside from the Joe Kubek stuff.
As I was putting the show together, I came across a couple of reviews that made the obvious “Texas guitar slinger/Stevie Ray Vaughan” comparisons. In some ways, it’s unfortunate that Stevie’s shadow was so long. Guys like Joe Kubek can hardly get a break sometimes.
In any event, I’ll have more Kubek/King stuff in upcoming shows. Stay tuned …
Lenny:
Mighty Lester, with your great guitar work, is always a great addition to the show. I think I’ve managed to play most of the CD in various shows. I’ll have to start recycling through songs!
Hello, i cant get the roadhouse to download or show up in my podcast screen on itunes. I have clicked the download icon but nothing happens. Do i have to do something special to get the link to work. thanks
Dan:
That happens with iTunes once in awhile, and I’ve never been able to pin down what causes it. I didn’t have any trouble with the feed myself, this week. I also haven’t heard from anyone else having a problem.
Chances are if you give it a few hours, the problem will disappear. Let me know at support@roadhousepodcast.com if the problem continues beyond that.
Tony
Beat Daddys Rock
Great to hear “Where Is She?” leading off the show. Britt Meacham plays some excellent slide plus has a great sense of what his guitar needs to “say” about anything he plays. Match that with the excellent blues vocals of Larry Grisham and the only thing better would be hearing them live.
Keep up the good work! Next thing we’d like to hear is “How Long Is A Heartache Supposed to Last” by W.C. Clark from his “From Austin With Soul” album – one of the best blues songs ever.
