The Roadhouse 110

24 March 2007 1,237 views 6 Comments

nullIt’s been a huge week in The Roadhouse. With the addition of five more visionary blues labels to the permissions-base family of Roadhouse labels, the catalog of available music has increased by roughly 2,500 songs. That also means a boatload of music in this edition that I haven’t been able to play until now, including Freddie King, Mike Morgan & The Crawl, Slick Ballinger, Dr. John, and Reverend Gary Davis. The 110th Roadhouse is, in fact, almost completely music new to the show from great new additions to The Roadhouse label family. It’s another hour of the finest blues you’ve never heard – the 110th Roadhouse Podcast.

Hey! This show was just perfect! I just loved it!
    Big george jackson is great!
A sugestion: the info file that comes with the podcast should come with a setlist. I was trying to figure out who played what, and I had some trouble.

    Tony,
    Great show this week!
I don’t know how many times I have played the three tune set of Slick Ballinger, Dr. John and Rev. Gary Davis. I have long thought that Rev. Davis was the most remarkable guitar player ever born and this cut confirms that in spades.

If anyone is interested in finding out a little bit about how Rev. Davis did all that stuff they should check out Roy Bookbinder’s Blues instruction videos at http://www.homespuntapes.com/
    truly remarkable stuff.

Thanks again and keep up the excellent work.

Thanks, Hank. I’ve always loved the music of Rev. Davis. I’m glad to be able to finally include it in the show.
