Mississippi Valley Blues Festival

16 June 2008 5,370 views 3 Comments

The annual Mississippi Valley Blues Festival will be held in Davenport, Iowa’s LeClaire Park July 3-5. This is a longstanding festival that has historically drawn big names. The lineup this year includes Kinsey Report, Elvin Bishop, Otis Taylor, Teresa James, Jimmy Thackery, Koko Taylor, Billy Boy Arnold, John Nemeth, Marie Knight, Tinsley Ellis, Doug MacLeod, and The Holmes Brothers. Divided between two stages, MVBF is three full days of great blues.

And, here’s the surprise. I’ve applied for press credentials for the show. With a little luck, I’ll be able to report on the performances and record interviews for The Roadhouse.

You should have received your press pass authorization letter by now, will-call will now be at 2nd and Brady.

Is there an interview in particular you’d like? I think a reporter is cancelling on an interview that I have lined up with Phil Guy…If you’re interested in that interview, let me know. Also, can you update your site with our latest info about moving the festival to the streets of Davenport from LeClaire Park.

    See you at the Fest!

    Thanks, Lori

    Consider it done, Lori.

    According to the Festival organizers:

“Flooding conditions in LeClaire Park have forced this year’s Festival to be relocated to Downtown Davenport. Bandshell acts will appear on a stage at 2nd & Pershing Streets, and acts that were scheduled for the Tent Stage will appear in the Adler Theater on 3rd Street.”
