The Roadhouse 195
It’s been a big week in the US. The election of a new president would put smiles of surprise and joy on the faces of many of the artists who laid the foundation of our favorite musical genre. With new music from Dave Gross, Super Chickan, Paull Reddick, and Shannon Boshears, the 195th Roadhouse is a celebration of the musical form that’s truly and originally American, but played and loved throughout the world. It’s another hour of the finest blues you’ve never heard – The Roadhouse Podcast.

I think it’s very interesting that you started off this podcast talking about how you are apolitical, and then the very next thing you say is that it “we did the right thing this week” (Obama’s elected. Based on that, I’m considering not listening to you any more.
What might save you is the that you followed that up with the statement that you thought it was appropriate to play Chicago blues. It is appropriate because we are all going to have “Chicogo blues” before long. Then the Chicago blues song that you played was the Bob Margolin song, “Lost Again.” That was also very appropriate when you listen to the lyrics, “I’m lost again, how’d I get off the right road?”
How true, how true!
Steve:
This is exactly the reason I stay apolitical in the show. People drop any sense of reason or proportion when it comes to politics. To wit: you disagree with my statement about doing the right thing (I think the lone political comment I’ve made in nearly 4 years) so you consider no longer listening to the show. Then you get all twisted up trying to read into other comments to justify continuing to listen. Fascinating.
I do remember a time when people could disagree on politics and still be agreeable. Clearly, those days are gone.
For the record, I did mean that we did the right thing by electing Barack Obama. If that’s a deal-killer fir listening to the show, sorry to hear it. I wish you well nonetheless.
